SUMMARY:Healing Histories UK – Connecting to Love and Wisdom in the midst of challenging times
DESCRIPTION:Join us on this transformative 3 day workshop immersing yourself in experiential ‘Process-oriented’ and collaborative learning\, connecting with nature and exploring the intersection of trauma\, ecology\, and the land. The workshop will include experiences in nature\, storytelling\, body movement\, and developing community leadership and facilitation skills. \nThis is the third iteration of an annual event… The first year was focussed on working with trauma\, which evolved into our second year’s theme\, trauma and the land. As a continuation of this work\, this year will be about maintaining our resilience and connection to love and our center as we navigate challenging\, changing times. \nThe approaches are holistic\, pointing to how we can unfold traumatic histories or energies trapped in our body/minds\, communities and the land\, exploring how these can be healed or transformed with awareness and informed by nature. An aim will be to discover leadership and awareness skills\, creativity\, and purpose informed through nature. \n \n‘Process-oriented’ means to follow the flow of nature with awareness\, respecting a natural unfolding\, and not to push or fix. \nConnecting to Love and Wisdom in the midst of challenging times\nOur planet is heating up\, not only due to global warming\, but so many societal issues are heating up and so many people and countries are in crisis\, We are not always choosing the best leaders to get us through these times. These crises put more and more pressure on our bodies\, our relationships\, our work and organizations\, and our systems of government and leadership. The world needs people who are or can become elders who can model how to survive and be effective and help carry us through such difficult times. In this seminar we will work on our feeling based meta skills\, to strengthen our ability to be resilient\, and to maintain our connection to our centeredness and love in the middle of all of this challenging chaos. We will draw from the wisdom of the land and ancestors\, Process Work\, Aikido\, and our own group process to strengthen our ability to sit in the fire with cool heads and open hearts. \ncontact jackgoodwinschmitz@gmail.com for any questions. \n  \nCosts \nPlease read this guidance before booking a place to help you choose which price to pay. \n£300 full price \n£150 reduced price \nWe have funding to support the reduced price and for those who need more financial assistance\, so please get in touch if you would like to request a lesser rate or full bursary. We don’t want money to be a barrier to attending\, though we acknowledge that this can be a difficult thing to ask for and so want to make this an easy threshold to cross. Just send an email saying “I want to come\, but I can’t afford it right now”\, and we can find a solution that works for both of us. Contact jackgoodwinschmitz@gmail.com.  \nDates & Timings \nFriday June 6 – 10am to 6pm \nSaturday June 7 – 10am to 6pm \nSunday June 8 – 10am to 4pm \n  \nFood & Drink \nA delicious\, seasonal lunch will be made on each day by Sima Cutting (see her instagram here). We will have hot water for tea and will bring an assortment of tea. Please bring your own snacks. \n  \nFacilitators \nAmanda Mansara is an expert on trauma work\, particularly in war zones. She has been a student of Process Oriented Psychology since she was a teeenager\, and teaches with Process Work teachers in Palestine\, Kenya\, the Ukraine\, and other counties. She has a unique perspective on how to cope with long term\, ongoing trauma that includes economic trauma\, war\, and other forms of trauma work that many trauma workers don’t have experience in. \n \nEmmanuel Karisa Baya was an orphan in rural Kenya by the time he was nine years old. His mother had taught him to farm\, and after going into another profession\, he was called to return to the land. He found himself helping other orphans and poor children\, and founding the Magarini Children Centre and Organic Demonstration Farm\, where he practices and teaches organic and regenerative food production as well as conflict resolution. Click here to listen to Emmanuel talk more about his life and experience. \n \nGary Reiss is a Process Oriented Psychologist and author of many books that explore life’s most challenging areas. He facilitates conflict work and trauma healing across the world\, integrating shamanism\, Taoism\, Kabbalah and other spiritual traditions into his approach. Within his community\, Gary has been active for many years in the Middle-East peace group\, as well as other community and parent associations. Gary’s lifelong deep love for Nature has often led him to the wilderness for inspiration and renewal. He makes his home on a farm in rural Oregon\, where he houses a small herd of horses. He also goes on retreat to the wild Oregon coast\, where he does much of his writing. \n\n\nLocation\nAmbios\, Lower Sharpham Barton Farm\, Ashprington\, Totnes\, TQ9 7DX

SUMMARY:Visions for a Future for Everyone
DESCRIPTION:Visions for a Future for Everyone\nGetting from here to there\nAbout the Workshop \nHow can we facilitate a space that allows for everyone to participate in envisioning the future? The loud and the quiet\, the powerful and the marginalized\, the young and the old\, men and women and everybody in between. In this workshop\, we will look for new answers and discover ways to hold all the voices within ourselves. \nThis work is challenging and exciting. But together we can create a trauma-informed space. We can be reflective of our differences\, and model styles of facilitation that embrace the deep diversity that stems from our individual and collective histories. \nWhat to Expect\n\nWe will apply a range of tools and techniques\, as well as inner work exercises and practices\, to strengthen the awareness and facilitation skills that western societies badly need right now to create a new positive vision for the future. \nBy the end of the workshop\, you will have: \n\nexperienced a palpable vision for a truly democratic future\na sense of how we can get to this future\, including all the diversity\nlearned new tools and practices for your own work\ncollaborated with inspiring participants and a world-class facilitator\ninsights on the connection of your world view with historical and collective trauma\nmoved from a traumatic past to a hopeful future\n\n  \nAbout the Facilitator \nGary Reiss holds an LCSW\, PhD.\, and is a certified trainer in Process-oriented Psychology.
